Grandpa's 51st Birthday Party

Wow Dad you're gettin up there. Thanks for having us all over tonight. You really know how to entertain these grandkids, especially by spoiling them with their own four wheelers. We love you and hope you had a great birthday and party. Muah!

Last Minute Trip to the Cabin

This weekend we made a last minute trip up to the cabin to give nana a hand. She has had Carson and Rylee all weekend, so we thought that we would bring Kayden up to the cabin to help occupy these bundles of energy. All of the kids had so much fun. Kayden and Carson are two little amigos with little Rylee following close behind. Skylar wishes that he could jump up and follow them, but those little legs just aren't quite ready. We took his bouncer outside to keep him close to his brother and cousins and he loved it. They were making him laugh so hard. Overall it was a good visit to the cabin. Although I must say that it was not a good study environment. How did we ever survive without high speed internet?

Summer 2008 Re-Cap

Since I just started blogging and there are so many great pictures that I took this summer, I wanted to do a quick re-cap. Read the captions and they pretty much explain it all. I didn't include Lagoon and California, because they have their own little spot. Hope you enjoy! It's been one busy summer... And I really don't think that this is all of it either :-)

Babysitting Adventures with Nana

Today we went to the the West Jordan Park with Nana. She has Carson and Rylee all weekend because Adam is racing and Taryn is at the Trade Show selling stuff for her business. The park was really neat. It is like an old western set that they get to play on. Nana is a little paranoid, so we left after not to long because she kept losing them :-) Ha ha love you mom. Then we went to feed the ducks, but the parks rec person was there and a huge sign that said "Dont feed the Ducks!"

Also, the other day nana took the grandkids to see the witches at Gardner Village. From the looks of the pictures, it looks pretty dange fun and great opportunity for pictures. We are going to all go back there as a family before it is over. Man Nana has had her hands full this week. But I bet she would say that she loved every minute... because I know they did.

Fishin in MillCreek Canyon

Yesterday we took the boys up Millcreek Canyon to go fishing. It was Skylar's first time fishing... or shall I say spectating fishing. We went up with our friend Mario and had a KFC picnic. I don't know how many times Kayden snagged his line, but I guess he was doing his job. We also almost walked over a rattle snake. We heard a weird noise and so we looked down... and to our surprise there was a rattle snake in attack mode about 3 feet away from us. I freaked and Tyler grabbed a huge rock and threw it at him. It took him like 4 tries, but he finally got it. They cut the rattle off and kept it. Boys will be boys!

The Races

Tonight we went to see Grandpa and Uncle Adam race. We were slow pokes and arrived after they had already gotten out... But our luck, we got to see them do a time trial and they raced eachother. Adam won... better luck next time Grandpa. It was a lot of fun, but I think that I will keep my visits to once a season LOL! Sorry guys. Our friends Stephanie and Cole also came with their kids Kyrah and Braxton. All of the kids had a lot of fun chasing eachother.

Update on Skylar's Heart

Today we went back to Dr. Mart, which is skylar's cardiologist, to see how he is doing. He had an Echocardiogram and an electrocardiogram done. Both of Skylar's holes in his heart are unchanged and problematic for him. He is still taking Lasix and Enalapril to manage his heart failure. I am also loading him with breast milk with extra formula and fruits and vegetables. Regardless of our efforts, Sky is still not gaining weight. He is almost seven months old and only weighs 15 lbs. Where do we go from here? In a month we will go to Primary Children's and have him go under anaesthesia to get another echocardiogram. This allows the doctors to get perfect images of Sky's heart without him moving around. Those of you that know Sky on a day to day basis, KNOW that he is not one to sit still. He is our little busy body. After they get the results, Dr. Mart will take these images and present his case to all of the cardiologists at Primary Children's. They will then plan the surgery for Skylar, which will be in the 2-3 weeks following the meeting. This type of heart defect requires the surgeon to crack open the chest and the heart. He will be in the ICU for a few days, considering there are no complications, and then on the cardiothoracic unit for a few days. We all hope that this hole closes before the sedated echo. If it does, then no surgery!!! But we'll prepare for the worst and hope for the best. We'll keep you all updated.

California Fun 2008

Our big family vacation this year was Newport Beach, California with my mama. We were able to go to Venice Beach, Disneyland, Sea World, California Adventure, San Diego, and our beautiful hotel. We had a jam packed weekend and had so much fun. It was the kids first time to any of those places. Kayden got to see the beach and boogy board in the ocean. I was extremely scared because he didn't have a life vest, by Tyler did a good job at keeping him safe. Skylar loved a lot of the rides at the parks. Buzz Lightyear, Toy Story 3D, Pirates of the Caribbean, Monsters, and Nemo. We all had so much fun and the boys did GREAT for driving 11 hours there and back. We are so excited for next year. Thanks Nana and Pop.

Lagoon with Grandpa

This Summer Grandpa and Grandma Sanchez took my family and Adam's family to Lagoon. It was so much fun. We got to see grandpa be a kid again. I have never seen so much joy in my dad than when he is with his grandkids. He won them lots and lots of stuffed animals by playing spill the milk. We opened up the park and closed it down. Great memories. Thanks grandma and grandpa!
