April Birthdays

Well yesterday we had quite the party. We celebrated 3 birthdays. Tyler turned 26, Cole turned 28 and Michole turned 24. We decided to do a joint party at the park with volleyball and ice blocking, but the weather permitted us from doing that, so we decided to switch it last minute to our house. I think that everything came together pretty great though. We had an awesome turnout, about 60 or so people. I don't think that I have ever had that many people in my house at one time... ever! It was good times though. I hope they had a great birthday because they had a lot of people there that loved them. Mwah!

We also had a teenage mutant ninja turtle cake with custard and frest strawberries. It really is to die for. It is also tradition for my family to get it on birthdays. Yum. The sucker seriously weighed 30 pounds and I am NOT exagerrating.

Thanks to everyone who came out. You really made it a fun birthday party. Remember we are having a repeat next week for ME!!! And no I am not sharing the spotlight with anyone. ha ha. It's my graduation. La La La La Yeah!

The Sand Dunes... Again!

Well I think that it is safe to say that this weekend at the sand dunes was so much better than last. We really wish that Mickey and Jared could have made it out, but we still had a lot of great friends there with us. We got there Friday night and just hung out by the fire. Boy was it cold... burrrrr!!! Our friend Steve put on some jams, and I wish I had my video camera, because Skylar was jamming out. It was hilarious. Saturday was pretty fun. Chantell, Andy, Logan, Dayton, Heather, Kaylee and Dayne all showed up. It was time to ride! Kaylee and Dayne had never been to the dunes before so it was all new to them. I think that they had a really good time. Kaylee was a lot more brave than I was with her first ride. Yikes!
Other friends that were there were Cole and Stef and their kids, brandon, steve, and Cj. I think my favorite part of camping is just hanging out with nowhere to be.

Saturday night was when the crazies came out... Ha ha. We put all of the kids to bed and had some adult interaction, which can be really nice from time to time. Sometimes i think that I may forget how to hold a conversation that consists of more than "huh?", "baba", "a-boo!", etc. LOL.

Needless to say the next day we were all actually feeling pretty good. We woke up, made breakfast burritos, went on a few rides, and soaked up the rays from the sun. Tyler got a little too much sun on his arms, as did I on my lips and face.

All in all, it was an excellent trip. We have really great friends that really mean a lot to us. Thanks guys, we love ya!

Oh yeah. This was also Kayden's weekend with his mom, but he decided to come and visit our camp quite often to come and play with the kids. P.S. Sorry guys, Kaylee is off the market... I think for good too :-) yeah! And we like the taker ha ha.

Easter 2009

My family had a great Easter this year. We kicked it off by dying Easter eggs with Nana and Adam's family. It was pretty funny when we gave skylar one, he tried to eat, realized it wasn't any good and threw it. Silly kid... you have to take off the shell first! On Easter we started at our house. Kayden got a new bike and Skylar got some cars. At my dad's house we had breakfast and an Easter egg hunt. That was fun, but Skylar's were the hardest to find :-) And then we ended it at my brother's house with yummy dinner and another Easter egg hunt! Great times.

The Dunes

Well this year for Easter weekend we went to White Sands to ride our four-wheelers. Friday was extremely warm. In fact, we had to hang out in our friends camper just to stay cool. Kayden decided to stay riding though. I kid you not, that kid road his four-wheeler from 8am until 7pm. He stopped twice to stuff his mouth, and then off he went again. We also got skylar a helmet and he loved riding around camp. What a stud!
Besides Skylar going on small rides, he LOVED playing in the sand. He would scoot backwards down "flat" hills. It was hilarious. In his head he thought they were steep like stairs. Kayden also showed us that he could do Brody's. He is better on a four-wheeler than I am. Although, to my defense, he has been riding them longer. He even road a 250cc in the dunes, which we were not too thrilled about, but our friend Scott let him before we were aware of it. Not again! Too dangerous, but I'll admit he handled it well.
Finally that night we made hobo dinners. YUM! I never thought that I would say that, but they're my fave. We also roasted some marshmallows and made smores. They were really really yummy! Can I just say that I love camping with family and our best friends Mickey and Jared. We had a good time together, too bad we had others that shared the campground that made our trip a day short. Oh well, what time we did have was great.

The Fear of Connection

I have an assignment this week that has me analyze a poem.... What initial understanding do you have of this poem after you read it? I'll post my response after I hear yours. I don't want to influence any thoughts.... just do it!

The spirit within connects us all, but the thought of that scares me because if it is so, I can no longer blame you for the things that trouble me so.

If could almost imply that I am part of the things that annoy me the most. It could almost imply that I am the cause of those things you do that upset me.

To think that you are a reflection of me causes distress I cannot bear. I do not do the things you do; I do not say the things that you say; How could all if us be connected?

But if it is so, then what should I do to change the things around me? It calls me to change the world that I see by changing not you, but what’s inside me.

Celebrating 13 Months

Well my baby is 13 months old today!!! I can't believe how fast time goes by. I can honestly say that kids complete you. I compiled a group of pictures over the last 13 months. Of those of you who know me and how much I like to take pictures, this is really just a small amount of the pictures. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.
