San Diego May 2009

So for Memorial Day weekend we decided to be spontaneous and go to San Diego to visit Tyler's family. With my mom and brother on a cruise, the babysitters were scarce, so we packed up and left. It was such a great trip. The first night Rae, tyler's sister, had to work, so we took his mom down to Ocean Beach, which was about 5 minutes from Rae's house. It was really beautiful. I guess the peir in the background is the 2nd longest in the country or something. The next day we went to LegoLand. It was... well... intersting. Everything was made out of lego's basically. There was a really cool part, the heart of Lego Land that showed all of the big cities made out of lego's. It was actually very impressive. There was Vegas, New Orleans, New York, Georgetown, etc... OH!!! and SLC... ha ha just kidding. That would be cool to see a temple out of legos though, I must admit. So if you are wondering if we recommend LegoLand... no we don't. It was pretty boring and expensive!

The next stop on our trip was a night of some sight seeing. We went to Coronado Island and walked out on the dock and then drove to downtown San Diego to look at a huge war ship that they have turned into a museum. There was a statue of a nurse and a sailor kissing that Ty and I had to re-inact. It was pretty cool there. I would have to admit that I would LOVE to move there.

We liked the sight seeing so much that we spent the entire next day goin to see places. We started off at Cabrillo National Monument, which is where the european settlers first landed. This is also a huge military base and home of a huge military cemetary. The cemetary was cool to see on memorial weekend because there were literally thousands of gravestones and each one had an American flag on it. From this monument you could also see Mexican islands... that is how close we were to the border. I didn't want to get too close, they may not let me leave ha ha!

We ended our day at Mission Beach, which is just next to Ocean Beach and hung out with Tyler's uncle brian and his friends. And later that night Tyler's family came over. His Grandpa, step-grandma, Uncle brian, Younger Aunt Amanda. Debbie didn't make it because she was ill.
Our last day we went to Seal Beach. This is a beach that has a bunch of seals... go figure. It was neat to see the seals, but it kind of stunk there. LOL. But another neat place to see. I think that Tyler has turned me into a sight see'er. I really enjoyed the entire trip.Since Debbie was sick on Saturday night, we had to make sure that we stopped by her house before we left. It is craziness there. They have 14 cats, 2 dogs, and about 20 birds.... not exaggerating. But the kids loved seeing all of the animals, and of course their grandma.
The last night we stayed in Mesquite because we were exhausted to say the least. We woke up and swam and then drove home. We are doing this again in September, although that time with my family in Newport!!!! yaya

Mother's Day

I guess we can say that the night before we celebrated with our friends, not really, but I have some pictures to share. We had some of our friends over for a barbecue, 3 weeks in a row, I know. We really are going to take a break. We've got some great friends, hope you like the pics. The actual day:
So anyways, I know that this post is a few days late, but I still wanted to do it. AND I really didn't take any pictures, weird... I know! I was a slackin' Anywho, Mother's day was really good this year. This was my 2nd mother's day and my family really did make me feel loved and appreciated. We started off at my dad's house for breakfast, where unfortunately we had a bad doggie experience. Rex attacked my step-sisters little puppy and cut its eye. I felt so bad. Rex, Rex, Rex... Luckily Tucker is okay and we put some neosporin on him, sorry bud.
Later we went to my mom's for dinner where we had my chocolate foutain going again. It was so so yummy, but some of us got a tummy ache later. RY RY was not affected though :-) Well let's end this post with saying that I have a lot of great women in my life. Taryn had put this on her post and gave me the idea to also do it on mine. I just want to tell you all thank you for helping me become a mother and thank you for being such great influential women in my life. Know that I think you all are great and tjat I learn a lot from you. Loves.

A Day At The Park

So the other day me and a few of my favorite girlfriends went to Liberty Park to let the babies play. We planned on going to Tracy Aviary, but I ruined it for all of us when I brought my poochie Foxilynn. They were really good sports and we just went over to the playground instead. I think that this actually ended up being better because they got to ride the Merri-go-round and go on the slides. I thought that some little hoodlums were going to steal my dog when we were on the ride so I hurried and unbuckled Sky and was ready to bolt if they made a move. I don't know what I would have done if they would have grabbed her. What do you do, drop the kid and run or run with him LOL. Just kidding. I think that this is some of my most favorite times when I can just have some girl to girl interaction. Thanks ladies for such a fun day. Love ya.

It was so great though to see everyone. I have to admit it made me feel special since everyone showed up. The food was also great! Thanks to everyone that helped my family plan this. I have really made a lot of great friends this past year. Let's just say I needed it. Love you and and can't wait until we get together again.

I Graduated!!!!

For those of you who are close to me, you all know how LONG I have been going to school. I guess you could really say the last time I had a break was when I was 4 years old. WOW! So today I graduated with my BSN in nursing. There are no pay raises with this degree, but hey I get to put BSN on my badge at work now. So now when my patients ask "How old are you?" with a concerned face, I can say I'm 23 and have my BSN. Whoot! Whoot! I do plan on going back for those of you who were wondering. I threw around the idea of going straight into the nurse practitioner program, but decided that I was setting myself up for failure. I am SO burned out on school right now. I also want to have a few more kids, so needless to say, I am going to just focus on my family. I think that they deserve at least that much. When my kids want to be with their friends more than me, that will be my cue to take some time for myself again and go back. But for now.... Go Tyler!! because he is registered for this fall. I personally know what it takes to be able to get through these years, so I will make sure that I am there for him every step of the way. No tyler I won't do your homework!!! LOL.
Anywho. Thanks to my family who were there with me today to celebrate. I know that it is hard getting away from work to drive an hour North. But it really meant the world to me. I love you all and thank you so so so much for your love and support. And thank you tyler, kayden and skylar for putting up with me when I was a stressful wreck. Love you.
